### Example 2

**Solve the equation: **

**Step 1**

As 3 is the last operation we need to multiply both sides by three as our first operation.

**Step 2**

Simplified it becomes 5x’s + 4 = 13 × 3 which is 39.

**Step 3**

We can now minus 4 from both sides which simplifies to 5x is equal to 35

**Step 4**

We can divide by 5 on both sides, therefore, we get ‘x’ is equal to 7.
